About Course

Trauma-Informed practitioners specialise in trauma release therapies with advanced emotional regulation training and neuro-somatic application. In depth study paths include biofeedback mapping and applied neuroplascticity.

Therapy involves expert consultation and practise as applied to individuals with preventable ailments and for overall health improvement.

CTISP can be used as a standalone practice or in conjunction with other therapies aimed at maximising the brain-body connection.

What Will You Learn?

  • How to understand trauma as a nervous system–based survival response rather than a psychological disorder or cognitive narrative.
  • The neurophysiology of trauma, including polyvagal states, autonomic imprinting, and the biology of fight, flight, freeze, shutdown, and fawn.
  • How implicit memory, fascia, and key anatomical regions store unresolved trauma when words are unavailable.
  • How to track nervous system states moment-to-moment to guide safe, responsive somatic facilitation.
  • The principles of safety, consent, pacing, and ethical scope required for trauma-informed somatic work.
  • Practical polyvagal strategies for establishing ventral vagal safety before supporting traumatic release.
  • How to integrate Traditional Chinese Medicine concepts of energy flow with modern neuroscience in a grounded, non-mystical way.
  • Trauma-adaptive movement and positioning principles that support the body’s innate intelligence rather than imposed forms.
  • How to facilitate traumatic release without catharsis, avoiding emotional flooding and retraumatisation.
  • How to work skillfully with complex and developmental trauma while supporting long-term integration, agency, and self-regulation.

Course Content

MODULE 1 — Trauma: Going Deeper – A Somatic Definition
Explores trauma as an incomplete biological survival response held in the nervous system, reframing it as an embodied pattern rather than a psychological pathology.

MODULE 2 — Neurophysiology of Trauma & Survival States
Examines how trauma shapes autonomic survival states, building clinical literacy in polyvagal responses and real-time nervous system tracking.

MODULE 3 — The Body Remembers: Implicit Memory & Fascial Holding
Investigates how trauma is stored in implicit memory, fascia, and key anatomical regions, and how these patterns can be safely identified and released.

MODULE 4 — Safety, Consent & Ethical Trauma Facilitation
Establishes the ethical and physiological foundations of safe trauma facilitation, emphasising consent, titration, boundaries, and practitioner regulation.

MODULE 5 — Polyvagal Applications in Traumatic Release
Applies polyvagal theory in practice, teaching facilitators how to support state shifts, co-regulation, and safe nervous system descent.

MODULE 6 — Traditional approaches to internal energy and meridians – Trauma Patterns and Energy Flow Principles
Integrates Traditional Chinese Medicine concepts with neuroscience to understand trauma patterns as disruptions in energy flow without spiritual bypassing.

MODULE 7 — Biomechanical Neurolayering and Autogenic Neuroplasticity
Focuses on trauma-adaptive movement principles that honour the body’s innate intelligence and support spontaneous, self-directed release.

MODULE 8 — Traumatic Release Without Catharsis
Clarifies the difference between true nervous system discharge and emotional overwhelm, prioritising subtle, sustainable integration over dramatic release.

MODULE 9 — Working With Complex & Developmental Trauma
Addresses the slow, layered nature of developmental trauma, teaching capacity-building approaches that restore agency, safety, and self-trust.

MODULE 10 — Integration, Case Studies & Pathway Forward
Synthesises learning through case analysis and integration strategies while preparing facilitators for advanced neurosomatic practice and leadership.
